Kylee graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology and went on to earn her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Kylee gained experience in an internship working with adolescents and their families in residential treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. She also has experience in private practice working with individuals, couples, and families experiencing challenging life transitions impacting their personal and relational lives. Many of these clients are seeking therapy for depression, anxiety, relationship stress, marital conflict around parenting or family building, low self-worth, grief/loss, and trauma.
Kylee is trained in systemic therapy, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of relationships and individual functioning. This theory emphasizes ‘zooming out’ to identify patterns and dynamics in relationships in addition to the importance and relevance of individual thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This approach creates rich context for the identifiable symptoms being experienced, which aids in the process of discovering target areas for meaningful and lasting change.
Systemic changes highlight ways to improve communication, increase feelings of safety, and connectedness, and strengthen relationships by sculpting new ways to interact, interrupting unhelpful patterns of behavior.
Kylee uses a trauma-informed integrative approach to evidence-based theories, including: Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.
Your relationship with yourself, and your relationships with others can improve when you courageously embark on your journey of healing. As Mahatma Gandhi says, “There are two days out of the year where you can’t do anything— yesterday and tomorrow.” Kylee’s relational approach towards healing supports your desire to rebuild relationships today and every day with grace, one step at a time.
